PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color-developing composition which can form a dye by a coupling reaction to develop the color without needing an oxidizing agent such as a silver halide. SOLUTION: The color-developing composition comprising a color-developing main oxidizer precursor represented by the general formula (I) (A1 and the nitrogen atom are groups for producing a dye together with the coupler; A3 is a substituent which is released together with an electron pair bound to the nitrogen atom, when the color-developing main oxidizer precursor is converted into the oxidizer; A2 is a group which is released with the production of the dye, after the oxidizer is coupled with the coupler to form the dye precursor) and a carbamoyloxy-releasing type two equivalent dye-forming coupler having an electron-attracting substituent.
