PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a refrigerator in which ventilation required for cooling components in a machine room can be effected without ensuring a large space in the rear of the back section of a thermal insulation cabinet and forward protrusion of the refrigerator can be reduced. SOLUTION: Exhaust openings 38, 39 are made in the opposite side parts at the bottom of a machine room 22 and air flow used for cooling the condenser in a refrigeration cycle is fed into the machine room 22. The air flow is then fed from both exhaust openings 38, 39 into duct sections 45 on the opposite sides of the back section 21a of a thermal insulation cabinet 21. Since a conventionally required large space is not required to be ensured in the rear of the back section 21a of the thermal insulation cabinet 21, the refrigerator can be pushed in rearward correspondingly and forward protrusion of the refrigerator can be reduced.
