PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method effectively manufacturing a hydrogenated oligomer of an unsaturated bicycloheptane derivative useful as a fluid for traction drive having a high coefficient of traction at high temperature, excellent in viscometric property at low temperature. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the hydrogenated oligomer of the unsaturated bicycloheptane derivative comprises carrying out a continuous hydrogenation by parallel flowing the oligomer of the unsaturated bicycloheptane derivative and hydrogen gas downward from upper part in a reactor filled with a fixed bed catalyst.
