Method for sulfurizing unsaturated fats with elemental sulfur in presence of amine compounds

Sulphurisation of a composition comprising at least one ester of a 3 - 30C aliphatic monocarboxylic acid containing at least one ethylenic unsaturation and a monoalcohol or polyol is claimed. The composition is reacted with elementary sulphur in the presence of a water soluble amine and water. Also claimed are the sulphurised fatty esters obtained and their use as additives in lubricant compositions.
