PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering device preventing the generation of a hammering sound caused by the thermal expansion of a rack shaft and smoothly sliding the rack shaft. SOLUTION: The rack shaft 3 is supported within a housing 4 with a bush 6 formed by fitting a circular inner bush whose inner circumferential surface is coated with fluororesin to a cylindrical outer bush made of a synthetic resin. When the rack shaft 3 is thermally expanded, the diameter of the inner bush is extended by the extension of a slit of the inner bush, the outer bush is elastically deformed so as to narrow the width of a slit of the outer bush to liberate the compression force generating in the bush 6, the generation of creep of the bush 6 is prevented, and the generation of the hammering sound is prevented.
