PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel tank capable of being properly used as a fuel tank for a vehicle and satisfying both of the flame resistance and the lightening in weight. SOLUTION: An outer surface of a tank 1 made of a synthetic resin, in particular, a tank side face 3 is coated with a ceramic coating material including ceramic fine particles to form a ceramic coating film 5 having the flame shielding effect, on the outer surface of the fuel tank.
