PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ash feeding structure of a melting furnace, which can prevent stopping of operation due to clogging with coarse particles in ashes and can continuously and stably feed ashes into the melting furnace. SOLUTION: The structure and method for feeding ashes into a melting furnace employ a screw-conveyer system, which is reduced in screw diameter continuously or step-by-step toward the interior of the melting furnace from an ash feeding section to an ash charging section, or enlarged in diameter of a casing covering the screw continuously or step-by-step.
