PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition balanced among fix heat aging resistance, fatigue resistance, and heat build-up. SOLUTION: The rubber composition is obtained by further incorporating, into a rubber composition comprising a rubber, a reinforcing filler, and <=20 pts.wt. specific sulfur compound (1) or <=20 pts.wt. specific sulfur compound (1) and sulfur (2) at a weight ratio of the compound (1) to the compound (2) of >=0.5, a vulcanization accelerator (3) of the thiazole type, the sulfenamide type, the thiuram type and/or the dithionic acid type at a weight ratio of [the compound (1) + the compound (2)] to the vulcanization accelerator (3) of <=2.2 and vulcanizing the resulting composition and has a ratio of VM to VT of <=0.3, a ratio of VT-V[M+D]} to VT of >=0.4, and, at the same time, a ratio of VM to VD =V[M+D]-VM) of >=0.4 in the VT value obtained from formula (A), the V[M+D] value obtained from formula (B), and the VT value obtained from formula (C), and furthermore, a retention of the tensile strength at break and elongation at break of the vulcanized rubber composition before and after heat aging at 100 deg.C for 96 hours of >=0.7.
