<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alignment controlling technique of a liquid crystal which reliably suppresses disclination in the peripheral part of pixels even if pitch of the pixels is reduced and which is suited for a super high precision liquid crystal device. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device 1 comprises a composite 6 composed of a liquid crystal part 4 and a polymer part 5 held between a pair of substrate consisting, for example, of an active matrix substrate 2 and a color filter substrate 3. The polymer part 5 is formed by polymerizing a polymer precursor aligned in the same direction as that of the liquid crystal molecules in the state with no voltage application and constitutes a wall part to partition the liquid crystal part 4 into individual pixels 7 between the pair of the substrates.</p> |
