PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device which can ensure a large horizontal displacement while suppressing the total size to be small. SOLUTION: In the base isolation device, plates 12 and laminated rubbers 14a, 14b are alternately laminated in an integrated manner. Each plate 12 is successively expanded in the horizontal direction successively from an upper layer to a lower layer, forming a pyramid on the whole. The laminated rubbers 14a, 14b are arranged annularly around a load input portion between the plates 12. A load supporting area formed by the laminated rubbers 14a, 14b between the plates 12 is expanded successively in the horizontal direction from the upper layer portion to the lower layer portion, and thus, the position of center of gravity of the input load is not deviated from an effective load supporting area even when the upper layer portion of the base isolation device is largely displaced in the horizontal direction. As a result, a large displacement in the horizontal direction can be ensured while suppressing the total size to be small. |
