PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an advantageous method for producing an arysulfone derivative. SOLUTION: This method for coupling an arylsulfone of formula (1): YCH2 SO2Ar (1) [Ar is an aryl group which may have one or more substituents; Y is a group of formula (3) or (4)] with an allyl halide derivative of formula (2) (Z is X2 or OR2; X1 and X2 are the same or different halogen atoms, respectively, R1 and R2 are the same or different hydroxyl-protecting groups, respectively; the waved line shows the mixture of E/Z geometnical isomers), characterized by allowing a base to act on the arylsulfone of formula (1) to transfer the equilibrium on the anion side, and then reacting the compound of formula (1) with the allyl halide derivative of formula (2) at a lower temperature than the temperature of anionization. |
