PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an incinerator in which NOx reducing/removing effect is enhanced with smaller supply of hydrocarbon based fuel. SOLUTION: A secondary combustion zone 14b is formed above a primary combustion zone 14a for main combustion of refuse and hydrocarbon based fuel G is supplied thereto in order to form a reducing region. NOx in combustion exhaust gas passing through that region is reduced and removed and then secondary air for recombustion is blown above 14c the secondary combustion zone. In such a combustion furnace 10, hydrocarbon based fuel G and recirculation gas B are supplied to the secondary combustion zone 14b from different supply openings so that the hydrocarbon based fuel G is diffused into the secondary combustion zone 14b through interference with the recirculation gas B in the secondary combustion zone.
