PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a molybdenum additive high in molybdenum content, low in amine and sulfur content, excellent in oil solubilit free from discoloration of a base oil and a finished crank case oil. SOLUTION: This oil soluble molybdenum composition comprises an organic molybdenum complex including a reaction product of a long chain monocarboxylic acid, monoalkylated alkylenediamine, a monoglyceride and a molybdenum source and use of the molybdenum complex as a multifunctional additive for a lubricant composition.
