PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focusing device and a camera equipped with the device realizing smooth and proper photographing by setting rational and appropriate storage waiting time. SOLUTION: This focusing device is provided with an autofocusing sensor AFS having plural range-finding lines and outputting the storage completing signal of every line and a photographing controller MPU instructing the start of autofocusing and also transmitting information concerning present frame speed. The storage waiting time required until receiving the storage completing signal of the range-finding line whose storage is slow is changed in accordance with the frame speed so as to perform focusing. The controller MPU is constituted to transmit information concerning a power supply state, and the storage waiting time is changed in accordance with the frame speed and the power supply state. |
