PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating cap which can be easily attached to a spout pipe, and can improve the appearance of the same. SOLUTION: The heat insulating cap D is attached to a front end of the spout pipe 2 of a faucet 1 for supplying hot water, and constituted of a cap main body 3 which has a peripheral surface being almost flush with the peripheral surface of the spout pipe 2, and a spout port 4 arranged in a lower surface of the cap main body 3, for spouting hot water from the spout pipe 2. The cap main body 3 includes a small-diameter portion 6a at a rear end thereof, which small-diameter portion can be inserted into the interior of the front end of the spout pipe 2. The small-diameter portion 6a has a metallic engaging member 5 installed on the external surface thereof. Thus, by engaging the engaging member 5 with the spout pipe 2, the cap main body 3 is connected to the spout pipe 2.
