PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of depolymerizing natural rubber that can be carried out at a temperature near to the room temperature under the normal pressure in no need of a large amount of energy in no use of hazardous chemicals, for example, phenylhydrazine and can control the molecular weight of the depolymerized rubber from several thousands to several ten thousands through the rapid-rate chemical reactions. SOLUTION: An ozone-including gas is blown into natural rubber latex and the rubber is characteristically decomposed with the oxidative effect of ozone and the decomposition reactions are further accelerated by addition of hydrogen peroxide.
