PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide seal structure using an annular sealing member of generally used elliptic cross section, preventing the fall of the annular sealing member when assembled without heightening the dimensional accuracy of an annular seal groove and the annular sealing member more than necessary, thereby preventing the bite of the annular sealing member and securing the crush allowance as planned to secure required bearing to a seal face while reducing cost. SOLUTION: The annular seal groove 3 is formed in such cross-sectional structure that a narrow groove part 31 capable of mounting the base part 41 side of a seal ring 4 with a clearance of specified value or less is formed on the bottom part side, that a wide groove part 32 wider than the narrow groove part 31 and capable of accommodating at least a tip crushed part 42 partially projected from the open edge part of the seal ring 4 is formed on the open edge part side and that step parts 33 and 33 are formed between the wide groove part 32 and the narrow groove part 31.
