PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device preventing a sheet housed in a feed cassette from making contact with the edge of the cassette inlet and outlet port of a case to cause a paper jam in the pulling out of the feed cassette from the cassette inlet and outlet port. SOLUTION: This paper feeding device comprises the feed cassette 11 for stacking sheets on a mount member in layers, the case 1 for housing the feed cassette and having, on the wall surface, the cassette inlet and outlet port 22 for putting in and out the feed cassette along the direction right-angled to the feeding direction, a roller shaft 24 arranged on the upper side of the housed feed cassette within the case and rotatably supported by the bearing hole of the case, a feed roller 26 mounted on the roller shaft to deliver the sheets, and a sheet presser 26 mounted on the roller shaft. The radius of the sheet presser is set larger than the distance between the central axial line of the roller shaft and the bearing hole formation part on the upper edge of the cassette inlet and outlet port.
