PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for inputting character data of a mobile communication terminal using an electronic pen is provided to quickly input the character data by recognizing a character inputted by a writing operation of a user and storing the recognized character. CONSTITUTION: A coordinate recognizing unit(21) recognizes a coordinate in which an electronic pen is located in an information input window when performing a writing operation using the electronic pen of a user. A character recognizing unit(22) receives a signal outputted from the coordinate recognizing unit(21) and recognizes a character. A data converting unit(23) converts the character recognized in the character recognizing unit(22) into voice data or character data. A key input unit(24) receives a control signal by the user. A microcomputer(25) controls each unit of a system according to the control signal inputted through the key input unit(24). A memory unit(26) stores the data converted in the data converting unit(23) according to a control of the microcomputer(25).
