PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning treatment method for contaminated soil which surely and cost effectively treats the soil contaminated with non-volatile hydrophobic organic compounds, such as PCBs, and makes the same nonpolluting. SOLUTION: The treatment method for the contaminated soil for removing organic contaminants from the soil consists in adding water to the contaminated soil and mixing the soil to a slurry form, then subjecting this slurry to an oxidation decomposition treatment by an oxidizing agent using metal ions as a catalyst to decompose the organic contaminants, thereby cleaning the contaminated soil. |
