摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method having high machining precision and for accurately setting the X-axis coordinate in the cutting and feeding direction of a wheel spindle stock in continuous grinding for a work piece. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a numerical control system for correcting only the difference between a theoretical value and an actual value when the difference between the X-axis coordinate of the wheel spindle stock position at the end of grinding for a preceding work piece and the Y-axis coordinate of the wheel spindle stock position at the end of grinding for a next work piece is within the allowable range, performing next machining with an actual feeding coordinate system without performing correction when the difference exceeds an allowable value, and comparing the wheel spindle stock position at the time when the machining part of the next work piece has the normal size with the wheel spindle stock normal size position last but one. In machining after a machine is stopped for long periods, comparison of the normal size position of the wheel spindle stock with the last one is not performed, correction is performed to only the difference between the theoretical value and the actual value, and the actual normal size value is stored in a range of a memory corresponding to each machining part.
