摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traveling guide mechanism for a wire electrode for machining and a method for electric discharge machining by the wire electrode for machining capable of highly precisely machining without an influence of dispersion of a diameter of the wire electrode, improving traveling stability of the wire electrode, and removing contaminant adhered to the wire electrode. SOLUTION: The traveling guide mechanism for the wire electrode for machining comprises a guide member 20 for guiding travel of the wire electrode 61. The guide member 20 is composed of a main body 15 formed with an accommodating part 15B, V-guides 15A, 17, and a U-guide 16. Motion of the wire electrode in an approaching direction toward the center side of the main body is restricted, and the slight dispersion of the diameter of the wire electrode, even when being existed, influences to act to the opposite direction to the center side of the main body 15. Precision for a workpiece is thereby not influenced and machining of high precision is performed.
