PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original plate for thermal lithography which can be mounted directly on a press to execute printing, without treatment after exposure, and which is improved in plate wear and uses metal as a substrate. SOLUTION: The original plate has on a metal base an ink receiving layer 1) and a hydrophilic layer containing a colloidal-particle-form oxide or hydroxide of at least one element selected from beryllium, magnesium, aluminum, silicon, titanium, boron, germanium, tin, zirconium, iron, vanadium, antimony and transition metal 2). At least one of the ink receiving layer and the hydrophilic layer contains a photothermal conversion agent and, moreover, the ink receiving layer contains an epoxy resin of a softening point 120 deg.C or above. |
