PURPOSE: To suppress high-frequency currents leaking to the car body by providing harmonic current suppressing filters severally on the courses (the input side of a converter, the output side of an inverter, and an earth circuit) where high-frequency currents leaked to the car body flows, in a power converter for an AC electric rolling stock. CONSTITUTION: A power converter for an AC rolling stock is composed of a pantagraph 1, a switch 2, a transformer 3, an earth brush 4, a three-level PWM converter 5, filter capacitors 6a and 6b, a three-level PWM inverter 7, an induction motor 8, and an earth relay 9. Stray capacitance 10 and 11 are formed between the secondary side of the transformer 3, and an induction motor 8 and earth, and a high-frequency current flows. High-frequency current suppressing filters 13, 14, and 15 are provided on the input side of the converter 5, on the output side of the inverter 5, and on the side of an earth circuit 9, respecively. Hereby, the higher harmonic currents generated in the converter or the inverter are suppressed, and the malfunction of ATC or ATS is prevented. |
