PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a die exchange apparatus of a forging roll capable of reducing an installation space and shortening a time required for die exchange. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with an exchange truck 30, which runs on a rail 23 arranged above a forging roll 1 and reciprocates between a storing position above a die placement table D to store a die 4 and an exchange position to mount/demount the die 4 for a roll axis 3 of the forging roll 1, an elevation rod 35 mounted to the exchange truck 30, a sub-frame 50 mounted to the lower end of the elevation rod 35, a reversing arm 60 rotatably supported in a vertical plane for the sub-frame 50, a reversing means 80 rotating between the vertical position and the horizontal position, a main frame 70 retractably mounted for the reversing arm 60 and a die engaging means 90 to attachably/detachably hold the die 4.
