PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a rise time of rotation of a can body in a treatment stage. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with a transfer mechanism 5, which carries the can body C into a successive inspection stage (treatment stage) and carries out the can body finishing a surface inspection from the successive inspection stage, a rotation mechanism 16, which rotates the can body C carried into the inspection stage around its axial line, further a front stage rotation mechanism 31, which rotates the can body C carried into the inspection stage in the direction same as the direction to roll a rotary base seat 13 independent of the rotation mechanism 16.
