PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shogi (Japanese chess) set capable of accurately recording the progress of a shogi match without an error and automatically recording it without a person for recording the progress of the shogi match. SOLUTION: This shogi set capable of automatically storing shogi match progress data is provided with shogi pieces containing contactless ID tags stored with piece identification information for identifying the sorts of the shogi pieces; a shogi board having a reading means capable of reading the direction information of the shogi pieces and piece identification information stored in the contactless ID tags when the shogi pieces are placed in the squares of the shogi board; a piece base for placing the shogi pieces on hand; and a data processor having a storage means for storing the information read by the reading means, in the order of the shogi pieces placed in every square of the shogi board.
