PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating a frequency at the real time in an on-line, in the case that a fluctuated frequency in molten metal surface level in a mold is changed caused by a casting speed. SOLUTION: An estimating instrument 8 for fluctuated frequency in the molten metal surface level estimates the frequency on the basis of a molten metal surface fluctuating signal measured with a level meter, and this estimated value is given to a disturbance estimation type adaptive controller 7 as the fluctuated frequency.
