PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice planting machine in which an amount of fertilizer to be fed by a fertilizing machine is controlled by subjecting a ring cone-type transmission gear box to variable speed operation, capable of easily conducting the variable speed operation of the transmission gear box regardless of whether the gear box is shifted to be driven or not. SOLUTION: In this rice planting machine constituted so that an output power of an engine is transmitted to a drive shaft (64) positioned in a discharging portion (38) of a fertilizer applicator (36) through the ring cone-type transmission gear box (79), a clutch (83) is installed so that the clutch shifts between 'on' and 'off' positions for driving an input shaft (80) of the gear box (79) by the output power of the engine, and another power mechanism (84) is installed as a separate system so that the power mechanism (84) drives the input shaft of the gear box (79) independently from the output power of the engine when the clutch (83) shifts to the 'off' position.
