PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for decomposing a harmful polyhalogenated compound, capable of effectively utilizing waste heat of combustion exhaust gas and capable of obtaining radiant light (radiant heat) of high intensity. SOLUTION: The treated gas containing harmful particles of dioxins or a powder having dioxins bonded thereto is introduced from inlet piping 41 to enter a pipe enlarging part enlarged in piping diameter. The periphery of the enlarged part is covered with a high temperature radiator 42 and the gas is not heated by the radiant light (radiant heat) from the high temperature radiator 42 and only the harmful particles of dioxins or powder having dioxins bonded thereto in the gas is heated to decompose dioxins. In this apparatus, as the heating means of the high temperature radiator 42, an alternating combustion type heat accumulation burner consisting of an air blow-in/exhaust gas discharge pipe 44a, a fuel blow-in port 47a, an air blow-in/exhaust gas discharge pipe 44b and a fuel blow-in port 47b is used. |
