PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a spring-loaded part configuration and reduce cost in a braking releasing device of a washing machine that releases a braking force of a braking mechanism mounted on a spindle supporting a washing dehydration tub. SOLUTION: This braking releasing device is disposed in the lower portion of a water tank containing a washing dehydration tub housing the washing and releases a braking force of a braking mechanism disposed on a spindle supporting the washing dehydration tub. The driving shaft 27 of a driving device 26 is engaged with one end of releasing hardware 31 projecting from the braking mechanism and butting a lever 20 to release the braking force, and the releasing hardware 31 is urged by a spring 32 in the direction of separating it from the lever 20. A projection 35 erected integrally from a water tank 3 is formed in the vicinity of the outside diameter portion of a the spring 32 and is held by engaging one end of the spring 32 with the releasing hardware 31, and engaging the other end with a cut and raised portion 33 formed integrally in a bracket 4 disposed in the lower portion of the water tank 3 for holding.
