PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machining technology capable of correcting a deviation from a reference shape obtained by measuring a formerly machined shape without dividing into deviation due to changes in tool radius and deviation due to thermal displacement, and making the amount of correction uniform regardless of a rotating angle of a workpiece. SOLUTION: This machining method comprises steps of rotating a workpiece W around a first axis C, relatively moving a tool T and the workpiece W along a second axis X orthogonal to the first axis, and relatively moving the tool T and the workpiece W along a third axis Y orthogonal to the first axis and the second axis. The three steps are combinedly carried out, thereby keeping a tangent 8 at a machining point 6 in parallel with the third axis Y. By machining in this relationship, the deviation of formerly machined shape from the reference shapes is compensated by uniformly correcting the X axis coordinate.
