PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an arc length controller detecting the change of the arc length of non-consumable electrode welding and controlling the arc length to make it constant and non-consumable electrode welding equipment. SOLUTION: The contact or the noncontact time of a welding wire to a molten pool, can be detected by electric changes such as the voltage, the current or the resistance of an electric circuit formed between the welding wire and a base material. By comparing the contact time with a preset standard contact time, the change of the arc length of a non-consumable electrode can be detected. By taking this contact time as a control factor and by moving a welding torch in the vertical direction to the base material, controlling is performed so as to obtain a proper arc length.
