PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freely stretchable fishing rod case capable of housing and exhibiting many kinds of fishing rods different in length and having general- purpose properties. SOLUTION: This fishing rod case is obtained by installing a sliding engaging means having an optional gap in prescribed positions of opposite sliding surfaces of an outer case 10 and an inner case 20 and forming the engaging means by fitting of recessed parts 9 (protruding parts when viewed from the sliding surfaces) provided in the outer case 10 into recessed parts 19 arranged in the inner case 20 in the case comprising the cylindrical outer case 10 and the cylindrical inner case 20 having a square cross section, one closed end and the other opened end and obtained by inserting the opened end of the inner case 20 into the opened end of the outer case 10 and making the inner case 20 slidable.
