PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adverse effects by accumulated heat by improving a heat radiation efficiency of a thermal head. SOLUTION: A heating material layer 114 is formed to a surface of a thermal head substrate 111 and moreover a common electrode 11 5a and a discrete electrode 115b are formed in a predetermined pattern on the layer. A protecting layer 116 is further formed on the electrodes. This thermal head 100 has a metallic heat radiation plate 119 set to a left side face and a protecting cover 120 fitted to a right side face. The thermal head substrate 111 and the metallic heat radiation plate 119 are bonded with each other to make the common electrode 115a of the thermal head substrate 111 and the metallic heat radiation plate 119 electrically conductive via an adhesive layer 121 of a high thermal conductivity.
