PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively separate organic filth adhered to grit without necessitating a large power. SOLUTION: A screw conveyor 1 for grit discharge is installed on the inner bottom part of a receiving tank 2 so as to be extended obliquely upwards to the position out of the tank. A grit charge pipe 5a is provided on the side wall 2A at the upstream side in the grit discharge direction of the receiving tank 2. A hollow drum 21 is attached to the position surrounding grit charge pipe 5a in the receiving tank 2 rotationally and drivably so that it goes down obliquely in the grit discharge direction. Organic filth is separated by throwing grit 4 through grit charge pipe 5a while rotating the drum 21 and by giving stirring work by rotation and dilution work by water within the drum 21.
