Compound of the formula (I):wherein Ar is a group of the following formula (Ar-1) or (Ar-2):A is a group of the formula:oror a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, a process for preparing the same, a pharmaceutical composition containing the same, and intermediates therefor. The compounds of the present invention show a potent affinity for 5-HT4 receptors, and they are useful as a gastrointestinal motility enhancer or a gastrointestinal prokinetic agent.
