PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink cartridge having a flexible ink bag for storing ink in which detection accuracy of ink end is enhanced while reducing the residual quantity of ink and variation thereof after ink end. SOLUTION: A detection plate 56 attached to the bag body part 55 of flexible ink bags 26(1), 26(2) has a lateral dimension 56W in the range of 0.5-1.0 times of the lateral dimension 55W of the bag body part 55 and a longitudinal dimension 56L in the range of 0.4-0.8 times of the longitudinal dimension 55L of the bag body part 55. Furthermore, the ratio (56W/55W) between the lateral dimension 56W of the detection plate 56 and the lateral dimension 55W of the bag body part 55 is set in the range of 0.8-1.2 times of the ratio (56L/55L) between the longitudinal dimension 56L of the detection plate 56 and the longitudinal dimension 55L of the bag body part 55. Since deformation of the bag body part 55 incident to reduction of the quantity of ink can be followed up easily, ink end can be detected accurately while reducing the residual quantity of ink and variation thereof after ink end. |
