PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cook delicious rice which maintains firmness and whose amylum becomesα-amylum to the core of the rice. SOLUTION: Until an activated coil spring 31 reaches the preset temperature during the warm-up time, a steam exhaust aperture 26 on the upper end of a steam release cylindrical body 23 is closed by the biasing force of a biasing coil spring 30. Consequently when an object to be cooked in a pot 4 reaches near a boiling point and if the activated coil spring 31 reaches the preset temperature during the warm-up time and opens the steam exhaust aperture 26, the pot 4 can be heated by a strong heat until boiling is detected while rice is cooked. In this way delicious rice can be cooked, which maintains firmness and whose amylum becomesα-amylum to the core of the rice.
