PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reasonably constitute a lawn mower which can control noises generated between a cylindrical member and a shaft used for controlling the height of a gauge wheel. SOLUTION: The vertical position of a shaft 26 in a cylindrical member 28 is determined with a lock pin 29 inserted into one of plural penetrated holes 26A formed in the shaft 26 having a gauge wheel at the lower end and into one penetrated hole 28A formed in a cylindrical member 28 supported on a cutting blade housing. A spring member 30 whose both end portions are engaged with both the ends of the lock pin 29 and whose central portion is brought into pressure contact with the outer surface of the cylindrical member 28 is disposed. Thus, the shaft 26 is brought into pressure contact with the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical member at the prescribed site.
