PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piercing apparatus capable of coping with many hole piercing patterns and piercing close and dense holes in a simple piercing pattern changeover work. SOLUTION: The piercing apparatus 1 to punch/form plural piercing holes to an object to be worked 2 is provided with an upper plate 4 moving up/down, a floating retainer 5 having a backing member inserting space 19 to insert backing members 35, 67 which are supported to a lower part of the upper plate 4 as freely moving up/down, support plural pierce punches 6 as freely moving up/down and holed the piercing punches 6 between the upper plate 4 and the floating retainer 5 from above, and a lower die 7 supporting the object to be worked 2.
