PURPOSE:To obtain a catheter whose tip has a sufficient strength by contracting the diameter of the tip to form a blocked end with a roundness, and separating the tip of a main lumen from the tip of the catheter at a specific ratio to the outer diameter of the catheter. CONSTITUTION:A catheter made of a thermoplastics is composed of a main lumen 4 formed inside, and a tip 3 formed integrally by a heating process. The tip 3 of the catheter is contracted toward the front end, and the front end is made into a blocked end, while the tip of the main lumen 4 is positioned separated from the front end 3a of the catheter at the length 1/2 of the outer diameter of the catheter or more, making the tip 3 into a thick member. In the manufacture of the catheter, after forming a tube made of a thermoplastics of the tip face in which the penetrating main lumen and its front end are inclined to the axial direction at the angle 35 to 65 deg., its tip is inserted in a die, and heated to form a blocked end. |
