PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for making paper capable of manufacturing a plate-like material of which the thickness is uniform by a simple method. SOLUTION: When slurry 2 supplied inside a head tank 1 is supplied to a pond pit 3, distributed in a width-direction, and the plate-like material is made up by a water permeable paper-making sheet 4, the slurry 2 is adjusted to an appropriate concentration, and adjusting water for adjusting a liquid face of the pond pit 3 is charged into only the head tank 1. Control of charging of the adjusting water into the head tank 1 is carried out based on information of at least A paper-making speed, a paper-making liquid face, a feed amount of the slurry 2, a concentration of the slurry 2 and the like.
