PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cycle sewing machine capable of obtaining sewing speed with sufficient drive performance. SOLUTION: The cycle sewing machine is provided with a holding means 4 to hold an object to be sewn, a first drive means 35 to provide the holding means 4 with rectilinear motion to move in a rectilinear direction, and a second drive means 36 to provide the holding means 4 with circular motion with a predetermined axis as its center to move in a direction which approximately intersects the rectilinear direction at right angles and performs sewing by relatively moving a sewing needle and the holding means 4 by the first and second drive means 35 and 36. The cycle sewing machine is provided with a sewing range determining means 21 to determine a sewing range and a control means 21 to determine the sewing speed of the cycle sewing machine according to the distance from the center of the circular motion to the farthest point within the sewing range determined by the sewing range determining means 21 and a sewing pitch in the moving direction by the second drive means 36.
