PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-dimensional image detector with a sufficient number of pixels onboard in which the outside dimension of a casing is made as compact as possible and the distance from the face of an image pickup sensor to the casing is shortened. SOLUTION: The four corners of a glass substrate 5a are cut in such a way as to match with the shape of a casing 6a to house the glass substrate 5a, and the image pickup sensor 1 or image pickup sensor 1, control circuit 4 for controlling the image pickup sensor 1, gate drive circuit 2, reading amplifier 3, and bias impressing part are on board of the substrate 5a. The distance Q between the face of the image pickup sensor 1 and casing 6a is made as short as possible, and the outside dimension of the casing 6a is made compact. Therefore, it is possible to radioscopically pick up the image of a specimen even in the vicinity of the casing 6a in a comfortable attitude.
