PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems in which the prediction of the actual recording time is difficult and the decrease in recording speed is brought about since the detection of the failure due to the stain like a fingerprint is made in the time of recording, and also prediction of the processing time cannot be made for the recording of data which have real-time nature, such as AV data. SOLUTION: Arrangement is made in such a manner that the stain is inspected before the recording, and the recording area is assigned to the area on an optical disk medium, where the stain is not stuck to.
