PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent failures in the alignment of a liquid crystal due to contamination of a substrate and to improve display quality, by preventing adhesion layer from peeling from fine particles in a mixture liquid and from dispersing in the mixture liquid. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing a liquid crystal display device, a mixture liquid 4 prepared by dispersing fine particles 14 in a volatile liquid is stirred in a vessel 2 to maintain a uniform dispersion state, then the liquid is atomized and sprayed onto one of substrates facing each other and the substrates are laminated to form a cell gap. When the mixture liquid is stirred, a screw 7 hooked from the upper part of the chamber 2 is rotated, so as to stir the liquid in the position apart from the bottom of the chamber 2 to produce a whirlpool flow in the vessel 2. Since the screw 7 does not come into direct contact with the vessel 2, fine particles 14 in the mixture liquid 4 are not subjected to frictional force, so that peeling of the adhesion layer from the fine particles 14 can be prevented. As a result, failures in the alignment of a liquid crystal due to contamination of a substrate caused by melting of the adhesion layer are eliminated, and a liquid crystal display device having satisfactory display quality is obtained.
