PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shim for valve lifter capable of remarkably reducing friction between the shim and a cam and remarkably improving durability of the cam and shim themselves and a manufacturing method for the shim. SOLUTION: By forming a very smooth plane part by performing super finishing grinding for a sliding surface and irradiating the plane part with laser beam converged finely, for instance, very small recessed parts are formed by being dispersed in each independent state.
