PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thick knitted fabric consisting of a surface fabric 1, reverse surface fabric 2 and binding yarn 3 for connecting them, excellent in softness of the surface, having a light weight and bulkiness, and excellent in cushioning property by setting the fineness of a single filament fiber constituting the above surface fabric and/or reverse surface fabric as an extremely fine fiber. SOLUTION: This knitted fabric is provided by setting the single filament fineness constituting the surface fabric 1 and/or reverse surface fabric as <=7 denier fineness. In order to make the single filament yarn fineness as <=7 denier, a fiber obtained by a spinning method to produce a dividable composite yarn is used and the fiber is division-treated after forming the knitted fabric.
