PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a private branch exchange that can freely and easily install an external output device or an external input output device. SOLUTION: In the private branch exchange provided with an external output device 108, a time division switch 101, and a multifunctional telephone connection interface 106 connected to the time division switch 101, is provided with an external input output device adaptor 107, placed between the external output device 108 and the multifunctional telephone connection interface 106, connected to the external output device 108 and converts data of a phone interface form into a data form recognized by the external output device 108, and with an information processor 105 that is connected to the time division switch 101 and transmits information processing data, through the use of a speech channel via the time division switch 101, the multifunctional telephone connection interface 106 and the external input output device adaptor 107, to install the external output device 108 at an optional place where a telephone line exists.
